The One Man Show The Commercial Tile Installer Options
We find insurance from among the many insurance companies we work with for ceramic, stone, terrazzo and acoustic tile installation and repair contractors who do work that is found in a residential, office or light commercial setting.
Finishing work contractors such as tile installers requires a detail oriented mind set and business to be successful as an artisan contractor company. Your helpers need to have the same care for the quality of the work that you do. Our insurers understand this.
NOTE: Our insurers will not write a policy for tile contractors that will do industrial, medical facility or municipal work. |
As with any business the bottom line is a concern. We have seen premiums under $600 a year. Keep in mind there is likely not enough coverage for most businesses at this minimal coverage. Many Handyman operations will find coverage at under $700 per year. For specific information on policies that fit your needs, including Commercial General Liability, Commercial Auto, Workers Compensation, and NYS DBL and PFL please contact us at 607-843-8860 or insurance@drickardinsurance.com.
Hint: The longer you have been in business and insured the better opportunity you have for the best insurance pricing. So keep your insurance even during your off-season. |
You work by yourself, or with an occasional helper, handling the type of tile service needs found in a residential or office setting. The Commercial General Liability policies we have found generally range from less than $600 to $800 per year if you only work by yourself. To add an occasional helper will add usually less than $200 to $300 annually. This type of policy does not include your tools, and other property coverage that you may need. We strongly encourage you to get more than the smallest policy you can find for the many reasons we are happy to discuss with you at insurance@drickardinsurance.com or 607-843-8860. If you have a helper you will need the mandatory employment insurances required by New York State.
Note: Your helpers and "independent contractors" may actually be considered employees. NYS has specific rules for what is an employee and what is an independent contractor. If the helper, independent, sub contractor that works for you does not have their own insurance you may need to cover them under your general liability, workers compensation and NYS DBL/PFL policies. |
In addition to the Commercial Package Policies discussed earlier, larger contractors who have up to 5 employees may find tile contractors solutions through us. Actual premiums depend upon coverage specific case by case underwriting. We are happy to discuss with you at insurance@drickardinsurance.com or 607-843-8860.
