Frequently Asked Questions

Credit score and homeowners insurance?

Answer: For years insurance companies have been using credit scores to determine eligibility for insurance products. They site various reasons for doing this. We are not here to defend the insurance industry's use of credit scoring. This answer is intended to help you deal with the consequences.

DRickard Insurance works with many insurers including some who give little thought to your credit score when offering you homeowners, house, or renters insurance. In some cases low scores will cause an insurer to refuse to offer you coverage. That does not stop us though. There are companies who want your business and will treat you with the respect you deserve. Work with us to find the right home insurance company for you.

If you have great credit tell us up front so we match you with an insurer that will consider you hard earned top credit score for eligibility for their best pricing.

Contact us at 607-843-8860 or insurance@drickardinsurance.com the sooner the better.
