What happens when a landlord’s insurance is canceled?

Answer:

For starters, there is no coverage on your property! This is something that you should care for immediately. Here are several considerations:

  1. You not only lose protection from loss of your asset.
  2. You also lose you protection from being sued.
  3. A lapse of insurance coverage makes you a less attractive client for insurers. Many will not offer you an insurance policy if you go without coverage when a need exists.
  4. Your agent will also less inclined to work with you if do not keep continuous insurance. She has gone to a lot of work finding you a policy, so when you let your policy lapse she is not paid for the hard work she has done.
