There are several variations of insurance you may purchase, depending on your situation, that will protect you from related liability when vacation renting or holiday letting your property.

Renting a residential property for a day, a week, a month, or a season? You need a policy that addresses this particular type of insurance need. We are happy to help you get a policy like this through our agency.

House

Your Home - While You Stay Elsewhere

The first situation is created when you rent your own primary, secondary, or seasonal residence occasionally to others and you vacate it or will not also occupy the residence while others are using the home and the contents you have provided. This frequently done in Cooperstown, college towns and cities, and in the lake districts of upstate New York State, during peak seasons. Some of the ski areas also increase area accommodations in this way. You may have homeowners insurance already. However, without special endorsements designed to cover this use of your property, any claim may be rejected by your insurance company. Contact us at 607-843-8860 or insurance@drickardinsurance.com so we can build a policy with you for your unique situation. We are happy to help you avoid rejection to the best of our ability when you fully disclose the use of your property. Our clients have been happily surprised how affordable the polices are that address this concern.

B&B

Your Home - As A B&B

In the second category you continue to use your residence while the short stay tenants are there. In this case you will be happy to know that we offer bed and breakfast products that may be added to a homeowner policy we design for you or an entire separate policy may be purchased. Contact us at insurance@drickardinsurance.com or 607-843-8860.

Lake House

A Home - That You Do Not Live In

Third, you may have use of your rental property by vacationers who stay anywhere from one night up to the entire season. Once again we come to the rescue with seasonal rental or long stay holiday lettings insurance products. Sometimes the type of insurance is referred to as Holiday Home Insurance, Vacation Rentals Insurance, Lake House Insurance, Short Term Rentals Insurance, and more. What ever you call it, if you are renting space out for people to come to on holiday to take a vacation at we probably can design for you a policy that you will like.

Do you provide recreational activities for your guests? Hiking trails, a boat launch, exercise facilities? We have insurers who may help you with the special needs you will have.

Such as daily, weekly, monthly, or seasonal rentals. Monthly renting to the same tenant repeatedly may disqualify the property from their Vacation and Short Term Rentals Insurance program.
